Laborless Labor Day

What can be wrong with a vacation that starts with ice cream? Nothing! To celebrate Labor Day the Dorvacs' went to Starved Rock for the night where we enjoyed the local food and views.

Brennan had a great time with all the rocks and sticks.

I think we wore him though as he spent the return hike asleep on my back! It was a great way to kick off the fall!

Tri with all your might!

Probably B's last day at the beach this summer

In our attempts to get every last juicy bite out of summer, we spent this weekend in as much sunshine as possible. The big event of the weekend was the Chicago Triathlon in which Wes competed and completed making this his 4th tri in as many years. Unlike some years when there is a large "Team Dorr" cheering section, this year's cheerleaders were small but mighty, and awfully cute, I might add.

Flower Child

Wes and I have always enjoyed the Chicago Botanic Gardens. Brennan seems to share our enthusiasm but for different reasons - he likes the gravel walkways, sticks and bugs. Today was too beautiful a day to not get out and enjoy some flower power - and bug power!

Brennan loved "smelling" the herbs - he would get giddy over it!

It is hard to tell, but he found two sticks and kept rubbing them together singing - it was like he had made a little violin.

Music Man

Brennan has always been our little music man, or as his says 'MEEE!!!!' Here are just a few of his groovy moves.

Millennium Park Fun

On July 5th we spent a steamy day downtown in Millennium Park's kid's tent with some good friends. Although we went for the Wiggleworms concert, Brennan seemed to enjoy these big blue foam blocks more than the music!

Lazy Days of Summer?

Lazy Days of Summer? Not in the Dorvacs House! Brennan and Co. have been enjoying as much of the sunshine as possible! We spent the weekend catching some rays with good friends; Julian, Thomas and Tessa. Brennan and Julian (JB) had a great Sunday in the pool at JB's house - they played with toys more than each other but still seemed to enjoy the company. On Monday we got to spend the day at Lincoln Park Zoo with Thomas, Tessa and their mom Tricia. We had so much fun looking at all the animals - B was asleep before we got out of the parking lot!

A Memorial Day to Remember

Brennan had lots of fun in the sun on his Mississippi Memorial Day vacation. Swimming, feeding the ducks and dancing the nights away with his cousins kept him very busy - and happy!
