Over the Hills and Through the Woods
Brennan spent his first Thanksgiving down in Mississippi with his Grandmamma D and Daddy Pat. He had lots of fun entertaining his great-grand parents, playing with his cousins, even opening his first Christmas presents. The week finished off watching his first Egg Bowl (MS State vs. Ole Miss), and of course, State won!!!

Splash!
At some day care centers and pre-schools, they have an expensive device called a Sand and Water table. These tables help with the development of fine and gross motor skills.
We here in the Dorvacs Household have a slightly, shall we say, less sophisticated version...

First Halloween
Brennan's First Halloween was weeks in the making! To guarantee it was the perfect day, he put lots of planning into each element.
He asked his favorite partner in crime, his cousin Sean, to help him find the perfect pumpkin.
Once the pumpkin was found,
he carefully carved it himself.
He then tested out his costume on both the
native species and others.
Finally, the big day arrived - and it was a glowing success!

Brennan's First Bites
It might not have been tasty but it sure was entertaining! Brennan had his first taste of food tonight - yummy organic carrots! Besides covering everything in orange, he had a good time holding his own spoon and slipping some treats to Huckleberry.

B's Big Summer
It has been a while since we blogged, mostly because Brennan has had such a busy first summer, we haven't had much time for writing! Just this month, B went downtown to see the 3rd of July fireworks, traveled to Wisconsin to play in a pool and even made an appearance at a Sawbridge cocktail party! Here are photos from just a few of his adventures...

Preparing for Baby, Part 2
Although there are piles to be put away, tiny clothes to be washed and many new "baby essentials" to be figured out, Butter Baby's nursery is almost complete...thanks to A LOT of hard work from our friends and family!
We are so excited to have a room that has truly been created with love and have so many people to thank for their care and artistic talents!

Fraser lovingly sewed the window valance and crib bumpers...not too bad for someone who didn't know what bumpers were just a few months ago!
Both sets of grandparents - Grandma & Grandpa Kovacs and Momma D & Daddy Pat - spent a long day moving furniture, organizing drawers and tackling the tedious task of hanging the valance.
Christina & Tricia worked countless hours - and lost several finger nails - hanging the tree and animal wall decals.

Call it crafty or artistic, Tricia made a beautiful frame for Butter's first photo. The papers and colors she picked are a perfect match with the other colors in the room!
Getting this much closer to meeting Baby fills both of us with joy. Next posting will most likely be sharing a new set of joys; diapers changes, late night feedings and exhaustion, but we just can't wait!

Preparing for Baby, Part 1
As we get ever closer to our early March due date, we find ourselves stepping into high gear "baby mode." Already we have gotten to celebrate Butter Baby with our friends and family in Mississippi and more celebrations are on their way. Wes' Dad gave Butter it's first piece of Mississippi State paraphernalia
We are also excited about preparing the baby's room with both of our parents at the end of January. It will be fun to create a room filled with love with those so dear to us. Decorations are already waiting to be hung on the walls and furniture has been ordered, it is just a matter of having the proper help to put it all together (literally, lots of assembly required!).Charlotte has taken on the task of knitting a coming home outfit for the baby and has chosen, of course, a lovely butter colored yarn. The hat is complete with a romper on its way. Wes' big preparations include keeping Charlotte calm and explaining to Huck and Moonk that they are about to become third class citizens.
Everyday we find our emotions shifting back and forth from total excitement to complete panic but at the end of it all, we just cannot wait to meet out little Butter Baby.
