Preparing for Baby, Part 1

As we get ever closer to our early March due date, we find ourselves stepping into high gear "baby mode." Already we have gotten to celebrate Butter Baby with our friends and family in Mississippi and more celebrations are on their way. Wes' Dad gave Butter it's first piece of Mississippi State paraphernalia

We are also excited about preparing the baby's room with both of our parents at the end of January. It will be fun to create a room filled with love with those so dear to us. Decorations are already waiting to be hung on the walls and furniture has been ordered, it is just a matter of having the proper help to put it all together (literally, lots of assembly required!).

Butter's Coming Home Hat in "Butter" and Green

Charlotte has taken on the task of knitting a coming home outfit for the baby and has chosen, of course, a lovely butter colored yarn. The hat is complete with a romper on its way. Wes' big preparations include keeping Charlotte calm and explaining to Huck and Moonk that they are about to become third class citizens.

Everyday we find our emotions shifting back and forth from total excitement to complete panic but at the end of it all, we just cannot wait to meet out little Butter Baby.

Eyes, Nose and Mouth - Oh My!

With a new sonogram picture, we thought a new post was in order. These days Butter is growing bigger, the heartbeat is amazing to hear and we can even feel the baby move every now and then. This picture is of the face and one of the arms. I think the eye debate is over, those huge eye sockets are definitely from Charlotte's side of the family! If you look closely you can see a delicate little nose and mouth - very sweet. During this sonogram we were also able to see 10 little fingers and 10 little toes. Looking ahead, we are excited to head south and introduce our little Butter Bump to our Mississippi family.

Butter Baby

Butter Baby at 13 Weeks - we couldn't believe how active the baby was when we went in for this sonogram. We are calling the baby Butter for now since all the baby seems to eat is butter (butter bagel, butter noodles, Butterfinger icecream, peanut butter, etc.) Charlotte thinks the baby has her eyes, but it may be a little too early to tell!
